The MCAC Program Committee sponsors 6 educational programs every year. With a wide variety of topics, the Program Committee searches for local and national speakers to provide short presentations on issues that face professionals responsible for protecting the safety of children and ensuring positive growth and development.
A Kickoff Breakfast is held in January, typically with an uplifting and motivational speaker. This is also an awards breakfast to celebrate and give recognition to outstanding individuals who have contributed to the field of child welfare.
An Annual Conference is held in August. A full-day educational program including CEUs is offered. With attendance from a wide variety of agencies, the annual conference is also an excellent opportunity to network and gain valuable information about local community efforts.
Four additional quarterly programs are offered throughout the year, usually scheduled on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. These programs are held at the Nebraska Children's Home Society (4939 S 118th St, Omaha, NE) or Project Harmony (11949 Q Street, Omaha, NE 68137), unless otherwise stated in program details, are free and open to the public regardless of membership status. These programs meet the criteria for continuing education requirements for 1.5 hours of mental health, social work and/or counseling practice.
You must be an MCAC member to receive continuing education credit.
